A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the cleaning of a structure used to grow oysters for
cultivated oyster mariculture.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 75, Parks and Wildlife Code, is amended
by adding Section 75.01055 to read as follows:
Sec. 75.01055. CLEANING OF STRUCTURES USED FOR GROWING
OYSTERS. A cultivated oyster mariculture permit holder may clean a
structure used to grow oysters for cultivated oyster mariculture at
the location where the permit holder is authorized to operate if the
permit holder:
(1) cleans the structure only with water from the
location where the permit holder is authorized to operate; and
(2) does not use soap, chemicals, or any other similar
substance to clean the structure.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
