| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Section 26.04, Tax Code, is amended by adding |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | Subsection (e-6) to read as follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (e-6) The designated officer or employee of a taxing unit |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | required to post information on the home page of the taxing unit's |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Internet website under Subsection (e) shall publish a summary of |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | that information and the uniform resource locator (URL) address of |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | the location where that information is posted in a newspaper of |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | general circulation in each county in which the taxing unit is |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | located. This subsection does not apply to a taxing unit if: |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | (1) the taxing unit is located wholly or partly in a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | county with a population of one million or more; or |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (2) no part of the taxing unit is located in a county |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | in which a newspaper of general circulation is published. |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | SECTION 2. The change in law made by this Act applies only |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | to an ad valorem tax year that begins on or after the effective date |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | of this Act. |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2024. |
