| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Sections 52.092(a), (b), (c), (d), (e), and (f), |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Election Code, are amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (a) Except as provided by Section 2.053(c) or 2.056(e), for |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | an election at which offices regularly filled at the general |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | election for state and county officers are to appear on the ballot, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | the offices shall be listed in the following order: |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (1) offices of the county government: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | (A) precinct offices; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (B) county offices [offices of the federal |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | government]; |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | (2) offices of the state government: |

| 20 | 20 | | (A) district offices [statewide offices]; |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | (B) statewide offices [district offices]; |
