A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to a requirement that the Health and Human Services
Commission establish and operate a state hospital in a county
located in the Panhandle region of this state.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 552, Health and Safety Code, is amended
by adding Subchapter F to read as follows:
SUBCHAPTER F. STATE HOSPITAL IN PANHANDLE REGION
Sec. 552.201. DUTY TO ESTABLISH AND OPERATE. The
commission shall establish and operate a state hospital in a county
located in the Panhandle region of this state.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
