| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter H, Chapter 1603, Occupations Code, is |

| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 1603.359 to read as follows: |

| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 1603.359. PRACTICE OF BARBERING AND COSMETOLOGY AT |

| 14 | 14 | | ESTABLISHMENT AT PUBLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL. (a) Notwithstanding |

| 15 | 15 | | Section 1603.358, a person may operate an establishment on the same |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | premises as a public secondary school licensed under Subchapter E-3 |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | without separating the facilities by a wall or other permanent |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | structure. |

| 19 | 19 | | (b) The commission may adopt rules as necessary to implement |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | this section. |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
