| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 135.02(a), Education Code, is amended to |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (a) The Texas State Technical College System is composed of: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | (1) a system office located in the city of Waco in |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | McLennan County; |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) a campus located in the city of Harlingen in |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Cameron County; |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (3) a campus serving West Texas that operates as a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | collective unit of strategically positioned permanent locations in |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | the city of Sweetwater in Nolan County, the city of Abilene in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Taylor County, the city of Brownwood in Brown County, and the city |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | of Breckenridge in Stephens County; |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (4) a campus located in the city of Marshall in |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Harrison County; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | (5) a campus located in the city of Waco in McLennan |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | County; |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | (6) a campus located in Fort Bend County; |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (7) a campus located in the city of Red Oak in Ellis |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | County; [and] |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (8) a campus that operates as a collective unit of one |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | or more locations in Williamson County east of State Highway 130 and |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | Interstate Highway 35; and |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | (9) campuses assigned to the system from time to time |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | by specific legislative Act. |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
