| 6 | 6 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 7 | 7 | | SECTION 1. Section 2154.202(c), Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | (c) The commissioner shall provide for the sale of a [A] |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | retail fireworks permit through an Internet website. A person may |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | purchase a permit on the website. The Texas Department of Insurance |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | shall post a link to the website on the department's Internet |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | website [be purchased from a licensed manufacturer, distributor, or |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | jobber or from the state fire marshal's office]. |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | SECTION 2. Sections 2154.202(d) and (f), Occupations Code, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | are repealed. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
