H.B. No. 2259
AN ACT
relating to the sale and purchase of retail fireworks permits.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 2154.202(c), Occupations Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(c) The commissioner shall provide for the sale of a [A]
retail fireworks permit through an Internet website. A person may
purchase a permit on the website. The Texas Department of Insurance
shall post a link to the website on the department's Internet
website [be purchased from a licensed manufacturer, distributor, or
jobber or from the state fire marshal's office].
SECTION 2. Sections 2154.202(d) and (f), Occupations Code,
are repealed.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
