| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 1080, Special District |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Local Laws Code, is amended by adding Section 1080.112 to read as |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | follows: |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 1080.112. AUTHORITY TO BORROW MONEY. The board may |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | contract indebtedness or borrow money for district purposes on the |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | credit of the district or secured by revenues of district hospitals |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and the hospital system. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
