| 8 | 8 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 9 | 9 | | SECTION 1. Section 504.202(e-1), Transportation Code, is |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | amended to read as follows: |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | (e-1) Other than license plates issued under Subsection |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (h), license plates issued under this section may include, on |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | request: |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | (1) the emblem of the veteran's branch of service; or |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | (2) one emblem from another license plate to which the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | person is entitled under Section 504.307, 504.308, 504.309, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | 504.310(b), 504.311, 504.312, 504.313, 504.3135, 504.314, 504.315, |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | 504.316, 504.3161, 504.318, 504.319, 504.320, 504.323, 504.325, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | [or] 504.327, 504.331, or 504.332. |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter D, Chapter 504, Transportation Code, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | is amended by adding Sections 504.331 and 504.332 to read as |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | follows: |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Sec. 504.331. TEXAS HUMANITARIAN SERVICE MEDAL. The |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the Texas Humanitarian Service Medal. The license plates must |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | include: |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | (1) the words "Texas Humanitarian Service Medal"; and |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | (2) a depiction of the Texas Humanitarian Service |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | Medal emblem. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | Sec. 504.332. FEDERAL HUMANITARIAN SERVICE MEDAL. The |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | department shall issue specialty license plates for recipients of |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | the federal Humanitarian Service Medal. The license plates must |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | include: |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | (1) the words "Humanitarian Service Medal"; and |
|---|
| 35 | 35 | | (2) a depiction of the federal Humanitarian Service |
|---|
| 36 | 36 | | Medal emblem. |
|---|
| 37 | 37 | | SECTION 3. It is the intent of the 88th Legislature, Regular |
|---|
| 38 | 38 | | Session, 2023, that the amendments made by this Act be harmonized |
|---|
| 39 | 39 | | with another Act of the 88th Legislature, Regular Session, 2023, |
|---|
| 40 | 40 | | relating to nonsubstantive additions to and corrections in enacted |
|---|
| 41 | 41 | | codes. |
|---|
| 42 | 42 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
