55 relating to the powers and duties of the State Commission on

77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 33, Government Code, is
99 amended by adding Section 33.02105 to read as follows:
1010 Sec. 33.02105. CANDIDATE FOR JUDICIAL OFFICE. The
1111 commission may accept complaints, conduct investigations, and take
1212 any other action authorized by this chapter or Section 1-a, Article
1313 V, Texas Constitution, with respect to a candidate for judicial
1414 office who is subject to Subchapter F, Chapter 253, Election Code,
1515 in the same manner the commission is authorized to take those
1616 actions with respect to a judge.
1717 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
