| 10 | 10 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 11 | 11 | | SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 503, Occupations Code, is |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | amended by adding Section 503.3021 to read as follows: |

| 13 | 13 | | Sec. 503.3021. ELIGIBILITY TO ACT AS SUPERVISOR IN CERTAIN |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | COUNTIES. (a) This section applies only to a county with a |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | population of less than 100,000 that is not adjacent to a county |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | with a population of more than 100,000. |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | (b) The executive council shall allow a person licensed as a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | marriage and family therapist under Chapter 502 to act as a |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | supervisor under this chapter in a county to which this section |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | applies for purposes of supervising an applicant for any experience |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | hours required by rules adopted under Section 503.302(a)(4), |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | including any direct client counseling hours. |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
