A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to the eligibility to act as a supervisor in certain
counties for an applicant for a license as a professional
counselor.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Subchapter G, Chapter 503, Occupations Code, is
amended by adding Section 503.3021 to read as follows:
Sec. 503.3021. ELIGIBILITY TO ACT AS SUPERVISOR IN CERTAIN
COUNTIES. (a) This section applies only to a county with a
population of less than 100,000 that is not adjacent to a county
with a population of more than 100,000.
(b) The executive council shall allow a person licensed as a
marriage and family therapist under Chapter 502 to act as a
supervisor under this chapter in a county to which this section
applies for purposes of supervising an applicant for any experience
hours required by rules adopted under Section 503.302(a)(4),
including any direct client counseling hours.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
