2424 relating to the payment of employment compensation by certain state
2525 agencies.
2626 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
2727 SECTION 1. Section 659.082, Government Code, is amended by
2828 adding Subsection (c) to read as follows:
2929 (c) A state agency listed in Subsection (a) may elect to pay
3030 employment compensation twice a month to an employee who holds a
3131 position classified in salary group A12, A13, A14, A15, A16, or A17
3232 under classification salary Schedule A in the General
3333 Appropriations Act. A state agency that elects to pay employment
3434 compensation twice a month under this subsection must satisfy the
3535 comptroller's requirements relating to the payment of compensation
3636 twice a month.
3737 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
3838 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
3939 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
4040 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
4141 Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
