| 11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Section 11.174, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 12 | 12 | adding Subsection (a-1) to read as follows: | |
| 13 | 13 | (a-1) If a school district campus is located in the | |
| 14 | 14 | territory of another district, the district may not enter a | |
| 15 | 15 | contract under Subsection (a) for that campus to be operated by an | |
| 16 | 16 | open-enrollment charter school unless authorized by a majority vote | |
| 17 | 17 | of the board of trustees of both districts. | |
| 18 | 18 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
