The bill would amend Transportation Code, Chapter 372, to establish training requirements for toll project entities and their employees or contractors that treat a roadway maintained by the entity during icy or snowy weather. The bill would require the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to make its training courses that it provides to TxDOT employees, available to a person required to receive training under the provisions of the bill. The bill would require TxDOT, in coordination with toll project entities, to determine the types of employees and contractors who are subject to the training requirements. Based on the information provided by TxDOT, it is assumed any costs or duties associated with implementing the provisions of the bill could be absorbed within the department's existing resources.
