A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to transportation planning for statewide broadband
infrastructure.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 201.991, Transportation Code, is amended
by adding Subsection (b-1)(3) to read as follows:
(3) adopt a policy comprehensively outlining the
department's strategy for the implementation of a statewide
broadband infrastructure able to support new transportation
technology broadband and to enhance accessibility throughout the
state.
SECTION 2. Section 201.9932, Transportation Code, is
amended by adding Subsection (7) to read as follows:
(7) effects on broadband accessibility for residents
of the region.
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
