A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
Related to the production of water from a well
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 36.117, Water Code, is amended by adding
subsection (c-1) to read as follows:
(c) A district may not restrict the production of water from
any well described by Subsection (b)(1), except as provided by
Subsection (c-1).
(c-1) A district may restrict the use of water from a well
described by Subsection (b)(1) for the irrigation of turf grass or
ornamental landscape.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
