88 relating to the compensation of an election judge or clerk.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 32.091(b), Election Code, is amended to
1111 read as follows:
1212 (b) A judge or clerk may not be paid for more than two hours
1313 [one hour] of work before the polls open, except for payment made
1414 for work under Section 62.014(c). In a precinct in which voting
1515 machines are used, a judge or clerk may not be paid for more than two
1616 hours of work after the time for closing the polls or after the last
1717 voter has voted, whichever is later.
1818 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
