88R3796 LRM-F By: Walle, Hernandez, Manuel, Rose, Garcia, H.B. No. 818 et al. A BILL TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT relating to the places a public employer may provide for employees to express breast milk. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: SECTION 1. Section 619.004, Government Code, is amended to read as follows: Sec. 619.004. PUBLIC EMPLOYER RESPONSIBILITIES. A public employer shall: (1) provide a reasonable amount of break time for an employee to express breast milk each time the employee has need to express the milk; and (2) provide a place, other than a [multiple user] bathroom, that is shielded from view and free from intrusion from other employees and the public where the employee can express breast milk. SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023.
