8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Over the course of her exemplary 28-year career in |

9 | 10 | | education, Dr. Howard has distinguished herself as a teacher, |

10 | 11 | | coach, instructional services director, assistant principal, and |

11 | 12 | | principal; in 2013, she moved into district administration and |
---|
12 | 13 | | became the executive director for curriculum and instruction for |
---|
13 | 14 | | Ector County ISD, where she oversaw the curriculum and instruction |
---|
14 | 15 | | components for district students in pre-K through 12th grade and |
---|
15 | 16 | | supervised 38 instructional coaches; she went on to serve as |
---|
16 | 17 | | superintendent of Plains ISD before returning to Ector County ISD |
---|
17 | 18 | | in 2018 as deputy superintendent; she was appointed superintendent |
---|
18 | 19 | | of Crane ISD in 2021, and under her able leadership, the district's |
---|
19 | 20 | | accountability rating from the Texas Education Agency improved from |
---|
20 | 21 | | a "D" in 2019 to a "B" in 2022; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In recognition of her many accomplishments, |
---|
22 | 23 | | Dr. Howard was named High School Principal of the Year and High |
---|
23 | 24 | | School Assistant Principal of the Year for Region 18 by the Texas |
---|
24 | 25 | | Association of Secondary School Principals, and she received a |
---|
25 | 26 | | Midland Classroom Teachers Association Administrator of the Year |
---|
26 | 27 | | award and a PTA life membership award; and |
---|
27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Howard earned her bachelor's degree from Angelo |
---|
28 | 29 | | State University, her master's degree from The University of Texas |
---|
29 | 30 | | Permian Basin, and her doctorate from The University of Texas at San |
---|
30 | 31 | | Antonio; she also holds both a principal certification and a |
---|
31 | 32 | | superintendent certification from the State of Texas, and prior to |
---|
32 | 33 | | joining district administration, she served on the board of |
---|
33 | 34 | | directors for the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals |
---|
34 | 35 | | for eight years; and |
---|
35 | 36 | | WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Stephanie Howard has upheld |

36 | 37 | | the highest standards of her profession, and she is sure to bring to |

37 | 38 | | her new position equal commitment and energy; now, therefore, be it |
