13 | 14 | | Mr. McLeod was selected as a teacher of the year at the campus, |

15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. McLeod teaches 10th- through 12th-grade rocket |

16 | 17 | | engineering at Brazoswood High School as a part of the Brazosport |

18 | 19 | | program; while fostering the development of engineering skills, he |

19 | 20 | | also focuses on encouraging his students to become collaborators |

20 | 21 | | and problem solvers; through research, design, and fabrication, his |

21 | 22 | | students learn how to build fully functioning rockets, and they |

22 | 23 | | have also hosted design meetings with professionals from a number |

23 | 24 | | of companies, including Blue Origin, SpaceX, NASA, Dow, and BASF; |

24 | 25 | | in addition, members of his Rocketry III class recently set a record |

25 | 26 | | with their Goddard Horizon I rocket at a launch in White Sands, New |

26 | 27 | | Mexico, which flew more than 45,000 feet; and |

27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Throughout his 11-year career as an educator, |

28 | 29 | | Mr. McLeod has taught physics, chemistry, and engineering, as well |

29 | 30 | | as student council and teen leadership; he holds a bachelor's |
