| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Maria Adela Saenz of |

| 6 | 6 | | Donna were deeply saddened by her death on March 27, 2023, at the |

| 7 | 7 | | age of 77; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Maria Saenz was born to Didaco and Rafaela |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Villarreal on May 29, 1945, and she grew up in Edinburg with eight |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | siblings, Rebecca, Dora, Zeferino, Roberto, Guadalupe Bertha, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Paula, Amada, and Gregoria; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, On April 24, 1966, this beloved woman married |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Gilberto Saenz; Mrs. Saenz was a devoted mother to her four |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | children, Sarah, Homer, Gilbert, and Nadia, and with the passing |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | years, she had the privilege of welcoming into her family 10 |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | grandchildren, Jamie, Meriah, J. J., Sydney, Noelle, Gilbert, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | David, Sophia, Noah, and Caleb, and a great-grandchild, Eric; and |

| 18 | 18 | | WHEREAS, Admired for her warmth, dedication, and strength of |

| 19 | 19 | | character, Maria Saenz brightened the world for all who knew her, |

| 20 | 20 | | and they will forever hold her close in their hearts; now, |

| 22 | 22 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 23 | 23 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Maria Adela Saenz |

| 25 | 25 | | husband, Judge Gilberto Saenz; to her children, Sarah Pena, Homer |
