H.R. No. 108
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, IDEA Achieve Academy and College Prep in Haltom City
has earned an A rating for the 2021-2022 school year from the Texas
Education Agency; and
WHEREAS, Headquartered in Weslaco, IDEA Public Schools was
established in 2000 with the mission to create high-performing
schools for disadvantaged children with a focus on college
preparation, matriculation, and graduation; and
WHEREAS, In 2019, IDEA Tarrant County was founded with
Achieve Academy and College Prep as one of its flagship campuses;
currently serving nearly 1,100 students in kindergarten through
ninth grade, the school plans to continue to add more grade levels
until the Class of 2026 becomes the high school's inaugural
graduating class; IDEA Achieve is ably guided by principals
Giovanni Outram and Deshanta Gooden; and
WHEREAS, For four years, IDEA Achieve Academy and College
Prep has promoted educational excellence and college readiness, and
in so doing, it has helped countless students in Tarrant County
reach their full potential; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate IDEA Achieve Academy and College
Prep on achieving an A rating from the Texas Education Agency and
extend to all those involved with the school sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
