 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
 with the passing of Gerald Lee Roseberg on January 7, 2023, at the
 age of 82; and
 WHEREAS, The only child of Leonard and Lucille Roseberg,
 Garry Roseberg was born in McPherson, Kansas, on April 7, 1940; he
 grew up on the family farm, attended a one-room school, and sang in
 the choir at New Gottland Lutheran Church, where he formed many
 enduring friendships; as a high school student in McPherson, he met
 the love of his life, the former Judy Scott, and after numerous
 dates at the A&W, they married in 1961; the couple were blessed with
 two daughters, Karla and Kristi; and
 WHEREAS, Mr. Roseberg worked as a cast iron welder, and in
 the mid-1960s, he was transferred to Greenville, Mississippi; after
 four years, the family moved to Corpus Christi, where Mr. Roseberg
 was employed at Coastal States Refinery; he found great
 satisfaction in his career and went on to serve as a shift
 supervisor at Valero until his retirement in 2006; along the way, he
 developed a sideline mowing lawns, just as his parents had in their
 later years; and
 WHEREAS, A man of strong faith, Mr. Roseberg served Calallen
 Baptist Church as a deacon and member of the building and grounds
 committee; he maintained the church lawn, volunteered whenever
 needed, and regularly attended Sunday school and the men's Bible
 study; in addition, he enjoyed singing with the choir; he was also a
 32nd degree Mason and member of Masonic Lodge No. 189 in Corpus
 Christi; in his leisure hours, he liked baking pumpkin pies,
 playing with his Dachshunds, and helping out family and friends; he
 took pride in his Swedish heritage and savored the traditional
 dessert, ostakaka; above all, he treasured spending time with his
 loved ones and relished his role as "G-pa" to four grandchildren and
 four great-grandchildren, the beneficiaries of numerous bear hugs;
 and
 WHEREAS, Although Garry Roseberg is deeply missed by those he
 left behind, they will cherish their memories of his warmth,
 kindness, and devotion, and he will forever hold a special place in
 their hearts; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gerald Lee Roseberg
 and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
 wife, Judy Roseberg; to his daughters, Karla Harris and her
 husband, Charlie, and Kristi Skrobarczyk and her husband, Joe; to
 his grandchildren, Eddie Joe, Ryan, Gabe, and Dee; to his
 great-grandchildren, Emma, Sadie, Connor, and Maggie; and to his
 other relatives and friends; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Garry
 Roseberg.
