R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A 75th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Marvin and Mae McDaniel
are celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on May 7,
2023; and
WHEREAS, Marvin Oliver McDaniel and the former Mae Frances
Smith were joined in matrimony at a ceremony officiated by J. W.
Watson in Dallas, Georgia, on that special day in 1948, and over the
course of their marriage, they have found in each other a devoted
life partner; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed couple has been blessed with a fine
family that includes their two children, Carol Bishop and Stephen
McDaniel, as well as their grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
with whom they treasure spending many special occasions; and
WHEREAS, Marvin and Mae McDaniel have enjoyed seven and a
half decades of abiding love and affection for each other, and they
are among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Marvin and Mae McDaniel on their
75th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
continued happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. McDaniel as an expression of high regard
by the Texas House of Representatives.
