| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In the course of an unforgettable year, Ellison lost |

| 10 | 10 | | just three games during the regular season and went 14-0 against its |

| 11 | 11 | | league rivals to claim the District 22-5A title; the Eagles then |

| 12 | 12 | | launched a thrilling playoff run, defeating Montgomery Lake Creek, |

| 13 | 13 | | Pflugerville Hendrickson, College Station A&M Consolidated, Port |

| 14 | 14 | | Arthur Memorial, and Fort Bend Marshall High Schools to earn the |

| 15 | 15 | | school's second trip to the state tournament and its first since |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, On March 9, the Eagles met Mansfield Summit High |

| 18 | 18 | | School in a hard-fought semifinal battle; showing tremendous heart |

| 19 | 19 | | down the stretch, Ellison held off a late charge by Summit and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | triumphed 52-50 to reach the state finale; squaring off against |

| 21 | 21 | | Kimball High School in that contest, the Ellison players turned in a |

| 22 | 22 | | valiant effort but finished as the 5A runner-up, closing out the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | year with an outstanding final record of 38 wins and 4 losses; and |

| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Ellison was paced at state by All-Tournament |

| 25 | 25 | | selections Jamyron Keller and Ahziel McIver; the Eagles also |

| 26 | 26 | | received valuable contributions throughout the year from the other |

| 27 | 27 | | members of the roster: Kesean Garland, Ademola Oladipo, Deion Ware, |

| 28 | 28 | | Khristian Wilkerson, Kristopher White, Sean Parks, Jeremiah Jones, |

| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
