 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, The McAllen Independent School District received
 the Golden Apple Award from United Way of South Texas on March 2,
 2023; and
 WHEREAS, Serving Hidalgo and Starr Counties, United Way of
 South Texas invests in initiatives that address critical areas such
 as health, education, financial stability, and safety net services,
 funding more than 100 programs through 22 partner agencies and
 numerous community impact grant recipients; each year at its awards
 ceremony, the organization recognizes local schools, school
 districts, businesses, and volunteers for their generosity and
 commitment to the South Texas community; and
 WHEREAS, For the fifth straight year, McAllen ISD was honored
 with the Golden Apple Award as the top-contributing school district
 of the 17 districts that donate to United Way of South Texas;
 Gonzalez Elementary School earned the award for highest per capita
 campus for the fourth time, and the district's administration
 office won the award for highest per capita school department; and
 WHEREAS, Through their admirable efforts, the faculty and
 staff of McAllen ISD have made a meaningful difference in their
 community, and it is truly a pleasure to honor their noteworthy
 contributions; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate the McAllen Independent School
 District on receiving the Golden Apple Award from United Way of
 South Texas and extend to all those associated with the district
 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for McAllen ISD as an expression of high regard by the
 Texas House of Representatives.
