 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Itzel Mayahni Rojas of Monte Alto Early College High
 School distinguished herself with an outstanding performance at the
 2023 Texas High School Women's Powerlifting Association 3A Division
 II State Championships; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Rojas became the first student-athlete from
 Monte Alto to qualify for the THSWPA state meet after placing fourth
 in the 220-pound weight class at the regional competition, where
 she hoisted 920 total pounds; and
 WHEREAS, On March 16, Ms. Rojas joined the other top high
 school lifters in Texas for the state championships at the Comerica
 Center in Frisco; she compiled 360 pounds in the squat, 240 in the
 bench press, and 350 in the dead lift, and her final tally of 950
 pounds earned her fifth place; and
 WHEREAS, Ms. Rojas has made notable progress in the sport
 during high school and made her first appearance at the regional
 meet in 2022; she is coached by her father, Rolando Rojas, and by
 Iliana Garza, and she also benefits from the support of her mother,
 Betty Rojas, and her brothers, Omar Reyes Jr. and Isaias Enrique
 Rojas; and
 WHEREAS, Itzel Rojas has excelled through skill, hard work,
 and an unwavering commitment to excellence, and she is a source of
 great pride to her classmates and her community; now, therefore, be
 it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby congratulate Itzel Mayahni Rojas on placing
 fifth in the 220-pound weight class at the 2023 THSWPA 3A Division
 II State Championships and extend to her sincere best wishes for the
 future; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for Ms. Rojas as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
