55 WHEREAS, Elijah Scheideman, a fifth-grade student at Clara
66 Love Elementary School in Justin, has been named the Communities In
77 Schools of North Texas 2023 Elementary Student of the Year; and
88 WHEREAS, Communities In Schools is a nationwide organization
99 committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of race,
1010 gender, ability, residence, or socioeconomic background, are given
1111 the resources they need to realize their full potential; the
1212 organization provides schools with trained local coordinators who
1313 offer individualized support to help students succeed academically
1414 and to keep them on a path toward graduation; and
1515 WHEREAS, Elijah Scheideman has been in the Communities In
1616 Schools program at Clara Love Elementary since he was in the second
1717 grade, and with the support of his CIS site coordinator, Alexa
1818 Terry, he has made considerable progress; and
1919 WHEREAS, The Communities In Schools program is helping
2020 countless students like Elijah Scheideman build confidence,
2121 improve school performance, and make positive life choices, and it
2222 is a pleasure to join in recognizing Eli for his hard work and
2323 achievements; now, therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2525 Legislature hereby congratulate Elijah Scheideman on his selection
2626 as the Communities In Schools of North Texas 2023 Elementary
2727 Student of the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for
2828 continued success; and, be it further
2929 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3030 prepared for Eli as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
3131 of Representatives.
