H.R. No. 1218
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Elijah Scheideman, a fifth-grade student at Clara
Love Elementary School in Justin, has been named the Communities In
Schools of North Texas 2023 Elementary Student of the Year; and
WHEREAS, Communities In Schools is a nationwide organization
committed to ensuring that all students, regardless of race,
gender, ability, residence, or socioeconomic background, are given
the resources they need to realize their full potential; the
organization provides schools with trained local coordinators who
offer individualized support to help students succeed academically
and to keep them on a path toward graduation; and
WHEREAS, Elijah Scheideman has been in the Communities In
Schools program at Clara Love Elementary since he was in the second
grade, and with the support of his CIS site coordinator, Alexa
Terry, he has made considerable progress; and
WHEREAS, The Communities In Schools program is helping
countless students like Elijah Scheideman build confidence,
improve school performance, and make positive life choices, and it
is a pleasure to join in recognizing Eli for his hard work and
achievements; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Elijah Scheideman on his selection
as the Communities In Schools of North Texas 2023 Elementary
Student of the Year and extend to him sincere best wishes for
continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Eli as an expression of high regard by the Texas House
of Representatives.
