| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Cherished memories remain to comfort the family and |

| 6 | 6 | | friends of Rosalie Elaine Karp, who passed away on March 10, 2023, |

| 7 | 7 | | at the age of 85; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A native of Herkimer, New York, the former Rosalie |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Elaine Pugia was born on November 20, 1937, to Ralph and Theresa |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | Pugia, and she grew up with the companionship of three brothers, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | Ralph, Joseph, and Edward; she shared a rewarding marriage with the |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | love of her life, Theodore Karp, who preceded her in death; she was |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | the devoted mother of six children, Russell, Robin, Rochelle, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Paula, William, and David, and she was further blessed with 14 |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mrs. Karp prayed, worshipped, |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | and read Bible devotionals daily, and she was often called upon to |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | pray for and with her loved ones; in her leisure time, she enjoyed |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | reading, dancing, spending time outdoors, and tending to her |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | garden, and she was an excellent cook and hostess as well; she was |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | also very talented at home improvement projects, and she served as a |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | volunteer at a local elementary school and public library; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Rosalie Karp lived a rich and purposeful life |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | centered around her family and her faith, and she will forever be |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | remembered with warmth and affection by all who were fortunate |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | enough to know her; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Rosalie Elaine Karp |
