H.R. No. 1322 R E S O L U T I O N WHEREAS, Cherished memories remain to comfort the family and friends of Rosalie Elaine Karp, who passed away on March 10, 2023, at the age of 85; and WHEREAS, A native of Herkimer, New York, the former Rosalie Elaine Pugia was born on November 20, 1937, to Ralph and Theresa Pugia, and she grew up with the companionship of three brothers, Ralph, Joseph, and Edward; she shared a rewarding marriage with the love of her life, Theodore Karp, who preceded her in death; she was the devoted mother of six children, Russell, Robin, Rochelle, Paula, William, and David, and she was further blessed with 14 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; and WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, Mrs. Karp prayed, worshipped, and read Bible devotionals daily, and she was often called upon to pray for and with her loved ones; in her leisure time, she enjoyed reading, dancing, spending time outdoors, and tending to her garden, and she was an excellent cook and hostess as well; she was also very talented at home improvement projects, and she served as a volunteer at a local elementary school and public library; and WHEREAS, Rosalie Karp lived a rich and purposeful life centered around her family and her faith, and she will forever be remembered with warmth and affection by all who were fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Rosalie Elaine Karp and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her children, Russell Richardson, Robin Castro, Rochelle West and her husband, Dave, and Paula Cipollone and her husband, Brian; to her grandchildren, William, Nicole, Stacie, Amber, Nicholas, Michael, Owen, Joseph, David, Brian, Anthony, Dmitri, Sidney, and Delaney; to her great-grandchildren, Jameson, Michael, Gabriel, Bella, Michael, Jazzmine, Olivia, Eloise, Margot, Llewellyn, Vera, Ariyah, Ashtion, Joel, Jacob, Jade, Jackson, Chloe, Breann, Kendra, Sophia, Myron, Ethan, Ashton, Landon, Brileigh, and Dawson; to her nieces and nephews, Michael, Susan, Edward, Kristen, Nina, Maria, and William; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Rosalie Karp.
