| 6 | 6 | | the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area and other communities across |

| 7 | 7 | | Texas, has been named the 2023 Outstanding Small Business of the |

| 8 | 8 | | Year by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the McKinney Chamber of Commerce |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | recognizes a small business that has made long-term contributions |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to the local economy and has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | serving the wider community; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Owners John and Jennifer Garrett launched the first |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | edition of Community Impact in 2005, and the publication originally |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | covered the cities of Round Rock and Pflugerville; over the years, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | the organization has grown to distribute news and information to |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | communities across the state, and its many services include daily |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | online updates and monthly direct-mail publications; its reporters |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | attend city council and school board meetings and inform readers on |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | the latest developments in business, transportation, education, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | health care, and other topics of local interest; and |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Community Impact has served as a vital resource to |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | McKinney residents, and the publication's owners and staff are |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for this notable honor; |

| 25 | 25 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 26 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
