| 8 | 8 | | following their outstanding performance in the 2022-2023 regular |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Composed of students from Prosper, Rock Hill, and |

| 11 | 11 | | McKinney Boyd High Schools, the Prosper ISD team competed in |

| 12 | 12 | | several tournaments during the year, including competitions at Lake |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Texoma, Lake Lewisville, Ray Roberts Lake, and Lake Ray Hubbard; |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | triumphing over more than 40 other North Texas high school squads, |

| 15 | 15 | | the Prosper anglers compiled 491 points, besting the second-place |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | team by eight points to claim the title; and |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Six of Prosper's two-person teams finished among the |

| 18 | 18 | | top 30 in the North Texas Division as a result of their regular |

| 19 | 19 | | season success; Ethan Mau and Mason Prather captured sixth place, |

| 20 | 20 | | Garrett Ryan and Graham Ryan placed 11th, and the duo of Bradley |

| 21 | 21 | | Simpson and Patrick Layhee captured 15th; moreover, Connor |

| 22 | 22 | | Boatright and Nicholas Jarrett finished in 17th place, Jackson |

| 23 | 23 | | Robbe and Gunnar Phillips clinched 19th, and Brennan Trotter and |

| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, The Prosper team also received vital contributions |

| 30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, At the regional tournament at Ray Roberts Lake on |

| 31 | 31 | | April 15, the Prosper anglers continued to excel, finishing 10th |

| 32 | 32 | | out of 90 high schools; the team will look to build on that fine |

| 33 | 33 | | showing at the state championship at Sam Rayburn Reservoir on May 20 |

| 35 | 35 | | WHEREAS, These accomplished anglers have demonstrated great |

| 36 | 36 | | skill and determination, and they are indeed deserving of special |

| 37 | 37 | | recognition for their accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |

| 38 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 39 | 39 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Prosper ISD bass fishing team |

| 40 | 40 | | on winning the THSBA North Texas Division Team of the Year title for |

| 41 | 41 | | the 2022-2023 regular season and extend to the team members sincere |
