55 WHEREAS, A delegation from the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders
66 program is visiting the State Capitol on May 4, 2023; and
77 WHEREAS, Emgage is dedicated to educating, empowering, and
88 mobilizing Muslim American voters in support of policies that
99 strengthen democracy and enable Muslim communities to thrive; the
1010 group offers a variety of programs, projects, retreats, and
1111 services, including the Million Muslim Votes campaign and a strong
1212 program of African American community engagement; and
1313 WHEREAS, One of the organization's signature programs,
1414 Emerging Leaders helps Muslim youth interested in civic engagement,
1515 government, policy, and advocacy develop the skills necessary to
1616 become tomorrow's leaders; at the end of the six-month program,
1717 participants are connected with governmental and civic
1818 internships; and
1919 WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry,
2020 Emgage is making vital contributions to the prosperity and vitality
2121 of the Lone Star State, and the participants in the Emgage Texas
2222 Emerging Leaders program are indeed deserving of recognition; now,
2323 therefore, be it
2424 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
2525 Legislature hereby commend the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders
2626 program and extend to all program participants sincere best wishes
2727 for continued success; and, be it further
2828 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2929 prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3030 House of Representatives.
