| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, A delegation from the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders |

| 6 | 6 | | program is visiting the State Capitol on May 4, 2023; and |

| 7 | 7 | | WHEREAS, Emgage is dedicated to educating, empowering, and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | mobilizing Muslim American voters in support of policies that |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | strengthen democracy and enable Muslim communities to thrive; the |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | group offers a variety of programs, projects, retreats, and |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | services, including the Million Muslim Votes campaign and a strong |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | program of African American community engagement; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, One of the organization's signature programs, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | Emerging Leaders helps Muslim youth interested in civic engagement, |

| 15 | 15 | | government, policy, and advocacy develop the skills necessary to |

| 16 | 16 | | become tomorrow's leaders; at the end of the six-month program, |

| 17 | 17 | | participants are connected with governmental and civic |
|---|

| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry, |

| 20 | 20 | | Emgage is making vital contributions to the prosperity and vitality |

| 21 | 21 | | of the Lone Star State, and the participants in the Emgage Texas |

| 22 | 22 | | Emerging Leaders program are indeed deserving of recognition; now, |
