H.R. No. 1447
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, A delegation from the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders
program is visiting the State Capitol on May 4, 2023; and
WHEREAS, Emgage is dedicated to educating, empowering, and
mobilizing Muslim American voters in support of policies that
strengthen democracy and enable Muslim communities to thrive; the
group offers a variety of programs, projects, retreats, and
services, including the Million Muslim Votes campaign and a strong
program of African American community engagement; and
WHEREAS, One of the organization's signature programs,
Emerging Leaders helps Muslim youth interested in civic engagement,
government, policy, and advocacy develop the skills necessary to
become tomorrow's leaders; at the end of the six-month program,
participants are connected with governmental and civic
internships; and
WHEREAS, By fostering a more informed and involved citizenry,
Emgage is making vital contributions to the prosperity and vitality
of the Lone Star State, and the participants in the Emgage Texas
Emerging Leaders program are indeed deserving of recognition; now,
therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the Emgage Texas Emerging Leaders
program and extend to all program participants sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
