| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has distinguished herself in her |

| 6 | 6 | | responsibilities as a legislative assistant in the office of State |

| 7 | 7 | | Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra during the 88th Legislative |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | Session; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Urcuyo has provided |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | including policy research, bill tracking, and communication with |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | stakeholders; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Urcuyo was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and she |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | moved with her family to McAllen when she was seven years old; a |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she holds a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in women's and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | gender studies; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | be it |

| 24 | 24 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | Legislature hereby commend Sofia Urcuyo for her service as a |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | legislative assistant in the office of State Representative R. D. |

| 27 | 27 | | "Bobby" Guerra and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
