H.R. No. 1483
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has distinguished herself in her
responsibilities as a legislative assistant in the office of State
Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra during the 88th Legislative
Session; and
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Urcuyo has provided
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,
including policy research, bill tracking, and communication with
stakeholders; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the
field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative
process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Urcuyo was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and she
moved with her family to McAllen when she was seven years old; a
graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she holds a
bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in women's and
gender studies; and
WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has performed her duties as a
legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend Sofia Urcuyo for her service as a
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative R. D.
"Bobby" Guerra and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Urcuyo as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
