| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Robyn Derington of the Banquete Independent School |

| 6 | 6 | | District received a 2023 Women in Education Award from the |

| 7 | 7 | | Education Service Center Region 2 at its Outstanding Women in |

| 8 | 8 | | Education Event on March 29; and |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Derington currently serves as assistant |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | superintendent of teaching and learning for Banquete ISD, and over |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | the past year, she has become an integral member of the staff and an |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | effective leader in the district community; and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Before being hired at Banquete, Ms. Derington |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | acquired administrative experience as the assistant superintendent |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | of curriculum and instruction for Fredericksburg ISD, as the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | curriculum director for Fort Stockton ISD, and as an education |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | consultant for Region 18; earlier in her career, she served as |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | assistant principal for Midland ISD and also taught in various |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | capacities; and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Robyn Derington has set an outstanding example of |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Robyn Derington on her receipt of a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | 2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
