H.R. No. 1519
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Robyn Derington of the Banquete Independent School
District received a 2023 Women in Education Award from the
Education Service Center Region 2 at its Outstanding Women in
Education Event on March 29; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Derington currently serves as assistant
superintendent of teaching and learning for Banquete ISD, and over
the past year, she has become an integral member of the staff and an
effective leader in the district community; and
WHEREAS, Before being hired at Banquete, Ms. Derington
acquired administrative experience as the assistant superintendent
of curriculum and instruction for Fredericksburg ISD, as the
curriculum director for Fort Stockton ISD, and as an education
consultant for Region 18; earlier in her career, she served as
assistant principal for Midland ISD and also taught in various
capacities; and
WHEREAS, Robyn Derington has set an outstanding example of
leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is
indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Robyn Derington on her receipt of a
2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center
Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
in her important work; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Derington as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
