| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Kacy Middleton has ably served her fellow Texans as |

| 6 | 6 | | an intern in the office of State Representative Ann Johnson during |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | the 88th Legislative Session; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff in August 2022, |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | Ms. Middleton has provided vital assistance in handling a wide |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | experience in the field of public service, she has learned more |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, A student at The University of Texas at Austin, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | Ms. Middleton is pursuing a triple major in government, sociology, |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | and rhetoric and writing in the Liberal Arts Honors Program; active |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | in her campus community, she has served as public relations |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | co-chair of the National Black Law Students Association UT Chapter, |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | as a First-Year Interest Group mentor, and as a Longhorn |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Legislative Aide with the UT student government; moreover, she has |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | volunteered with the kids ministry at The Austin Stone Community |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | Church and acted as a Metroport teen court attorney for the City of |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | Southlake; and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Kacy Middleton has performed her duties as a |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |

| 28 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 29 | 29 | | Legislature hereby commend Kacy Middleton for her service as a |
