 R E S O L U T I O N
 WHEREAS, Padre Island National Seashore has been named one of
 the top beaches in the United States by the British newspaper The
 Independent; and
 WHEREAS, Located on Padre Island between Port Aransas and
 South Padre Island, Padre Island National Seashore is a national
 park that features 66 miles of undeveloped coastal prairie land,
 including Laguna Madre, a rare hypersaline lagoon; the park is home
 to more than 350 different species, and nearly half of all North
 American migratory bird species pass through the park at different
 times of the year; and
 WHEREAS, Visitors to Padre Island National Seashore can enjoy
 a variety of recreational activities, such as boating, fishing,
 windsurfing, and camping, and several times each summer, the public
 can view sea turtle hatchlings as they are released into the ocean;
 and
 WHEREAS, A major ecotourism attraction for Corpus Christi,
 Padre Island National Seashore was previously recognized as one of
 "Five Idyllic Ecotourism Destinations Across the Southern U.S." by
 Forbes magazine in 2022; and
 WHEREAS, With its natural beauty and abundant wildlife, this
 unique ecosystem is one of the treasures of the Texas Coast, and
 Padre Island National Seashore is a source of great pride for all
 Texans; now, therefore, be it
 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
 Legislature hereby recognize Padre Island National Seashore on
 being named one of the top beaches in the United States by The
 Independent; and, be it further
 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 prepared for the park as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 House of Representatives.
