| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Teaching is a profession that calls for character, |

| 6 | 6 | | passion, and commitment, and Mike Sanders of the Leander |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District has demonstrated these qualities in |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | abundance over the course of an outstanding career in education |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | that has spanned more than three decades; and |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Sanders first joined the district 13 years ago; |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | during his tenure, he has provided special education instruction to |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | students with severe physical disabilities, and since 2020, he has |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | taught in the LISD Homebound Program; through the years, he has |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | worked tirelessly to meet the unique needs of each of his students |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | and to promote their success; along the way, he has earned the deep |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | admiration of the families he has served; and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, A leader in his field, Mr. Sanders has distinguished |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | himself through his dedication, professionalism, and strong |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | morals, and many of his colleagues in the district have benefited |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | from his mentorship; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Mike Sanders has made a lasting and positive |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | difference in the lives of countless area students, and he has set a |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | standard of excellence to which all in his profession may aspire; |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby honor Mike Sanders for his contributions to the |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | Leander Independent School District and extend to him sincere best |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | wishes for the future; and, be it further |
