H.R. No. 1690
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Teaching is a profession that calls for character,
passion, and commitment, and Mike Sanders of the Leander
Independent School District has demonstrated these qualities in
abundance over the course of an outstanding career in education
that has spanned more than three decades; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Sanders first joined the district 13 years ago;
during his tenure, he has provided special education instruction to
students with severe physical disabilities, and since 2020, he has
taught in the LISD Homebound Program; through the years, he has
worked tirelessly to meet the unique needs of each of his students
and to promote their success; along the way, he has earned the deep
admiration of the families he has served; and
WHEREAS, A leader in his field, Mr. Sanders has distinguished
himself through his dedication, professionalism, and strong
morals, and many of his colleagues in the district have benefited
from his mentorship; and
WHEREAS, Mike Sanders has made a lasting and positive
difference in the lives of countless area students, and he has set a
standard of excellence to which all in his profession may aspire;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby honor Mike Sanders for his contributions to the
Leander Independent School District and extend to him sincere best
wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Sanders as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
