| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, The Bellaire City Library has received a 2022 |

| 6 | 6 | | Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas |

| 7 | 7 | | Municipal Library Directors Association; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | annually presents the Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | to institutions that distinguish themselves in each of 10 |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | categories, including collaborative efforts with local |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | organizations, outreach to underserved populations, literacy and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | educational programming for all ages, and support for workforce |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | development; of the more than 550 public libraries in the state, |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | only 73 received this honor in 2022; and |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | WHEREAS, The Bellaire City Library has demonstrated a strong |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | commitment to its community, and it offers a wide range of programs |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | such as summer reading clubs for youth, teens, and adults, story |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | time for youngsters, and movie screenings, and it participates in |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | fire prevention month with the Bellaire Fire Department; moreover, |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | the library recently dedicated an outdoor greenspace in conjunction |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | with PATRONS for Bellaire Parks; and |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A vibrant and vital community resource, the Bellaire |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | City Library provides residents with opportunities for enrichment, |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | enlightenment, and entertainment, and it is indeed deserving of |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | this notable honor; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | Legislature hereby congratulate the Bellaire City Library on its |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | receipt of a 2022 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association and extend to all |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | those associated with the institution sincere best wishes for the |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | future; and, be it further |

| 33 | 33 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
