H.R. No. 1725
R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Bellaire City Library has received a 2022
Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from the Texas
Municipal Library Directors Association; and
WHEREAS, The Texas Municipal Library Directors Association
annually presents the Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award
to institutions that distinguish themselves in each of 10
categories, including collaborative efforts with local
organizations, outreach to underserved populations, literacy and
educational programming for all ages, and support for workforce
development; of the more than 550 public libraries in the state,
only 73 received this honor in 2022; and
WHEREAS, The Bellaire City Library has demonstrated a strong
commitment to its community, and it offers a wide range of programs
such as summer reading clubs for youth, teens, and adults, story
time for youngsters, and movie screenings, and it participates in
fire prevention month with the Bellaire Fire Department; moreover,
the library recently dedicated an outdoor greenspace in conjunction
with PATRONS for Bellaire Parks; and
WHEREAS, A vibrant and vital community resource, the Bellaire
City Library provides residents with opportunities for enrichment,
enlightenment, and entertainment, and it is indeed deserving of
this notable honor; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate the Bellaire City Library on its
receipt of a 2022 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award from
the Texas Municipal Library Directors Association and extend to all
those associated with the institution sincere best wishes for the
future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the library as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
