| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Del Valle High School senior Noel Moctezuma Mendez |

| 6 | 6 | | has been accepted into Harvard University with a full-ride |

| 7 | 7 | | scholarship; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A Career & Technical Education student, Noel Mendez |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | has been on the Information Technology pathway throughout his high |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | school career; alongside his challenging course load, he currently |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | serves as student council president, and he has been involved in |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | debate, the National Honor Society, and the Red Cross; he has also |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | participated in the Code2College program and has completed an |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | internship with Eventbrite; and |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Mendez will attend Harvard University in the |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | fall of 2023, becoming the first in his family to go to college, and |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | he plans to study computer science; he hopes to one day work for a |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | tech giant like Google or Apple, or to start his own technology |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | company; he has received additional scholarships from Amazon and |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | Dell; and |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |

| 22 | 22 | | noteworthy young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and |

| 23 | 23 | | friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with |

| 24 | 24 | | promise; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 26 | 26 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Noel Moctezuma Mendez on his |
