R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Del Valle High School senior Noel Moctezuma Mendez
has been accepted into Harvard University with a full-ride
scholarship; and
WHEREAS, A Career & Technical Education student, Noel Mendez
has been on the Information Technology pathway throughout his high
school career; alongside his challenging course load, he currently
serves as student council president, and he has been involved in
debate, the National Honor Society, and the Red Cross; he has also
participated in the Code2College program and has completed an
internship with Eventbrite; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Mendez will attend Harvard University in the
fall of 2023, becoming the first in his family to go to college, and
he plans to study computer science; he hopes to one day work for a
tech giant like Google or Apple, or to start his own technology
company; he has received additional scholarships from Amazon and
Dell; and
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this
noteworthy young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and
friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with
promise; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Noel Moctezuma Mendez on his
acceptance into Harvard University with a full scholarship and
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his
endeavors; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Mendez as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
