| 5 | 5 | | WHEREAS, Julian Jones of Early College High School has been |

| 6 | 6 | | named the 2024 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Round Rock |
|---|
| 7 | 7 | | Independent School District; and |
|---|
| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|---|
| 9 | 9 | | become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|---|
| 10 | 10 | | who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jones has been an educator for nine years, and |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | he currently teaches world geography at Early College High School, |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | where he uses a project-based approach to encourage students to |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | create meaningful work while developing skills that will prepare |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | them for professional life; in addition, he provides class members |
|---|
| 17 | 17 | | with opportunities to explore career paths related to the course |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | material; and |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Julian Jones exemplifies the passion, |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |

| 24 | 24 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Julian Jones on his selection as |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | the 2024 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Round Rock Independent |

| 26 | 26 | | School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
